Browsing designs
The CADit Design Library is a collection of designs shared by the community. You can browse the library to find designs to open, modify, and 3D print.
Accessing the library
The Design Library is the main page of the CADit website. Navigate to cadit.app to view the library.
The library displays design cards in a grid layout. The first card is always the "New Design" card, which opens a blank canvas in the CADit editor.
Searching for designs
Use the search bar at the top of the library to find designs by name.
- Click the search bar or the search icon
- Type your search terms
- Press Enter or click the search icon to search
The library filters to show only designs with names matching your search terms. The search matches against design names using full-text search, so partial matches and related terms may appear in results.
To clear the search and return to browsing all designs:
- Delete the text in the search bar
- Press Enter
Understanding design cards
Each design in the library displays as a card with the following information:
Card elements
- Thumbnail: A preview image of the design
- Name: The design title
- Description: A brief summary of the design (up to two lines)
- Designer: The username and avatar of the person who shared the design
- Statistics: Opens/downloads count, likes count, and creation date
- Type badge: For non-standard designs, a badge indicates the design type
Design types
Designs appear with different type badges:
| Badge | Description |
|---|---|
| (no badge) | Standard CADit file design |
| Script | A parametric TypeScript design (either uploaded or from GitHub) |
| NPM | An npm package reference |
| GitHub | A GitHub repository reference |
Script designs generate 3D models based on adjustable parameters, allowing you to customize dimensions and features before exporting.
Loading more designs
The library uses infinite scrolling. As you scroll down the page, more designs load automatically. A loading indicator appears while new designs are fetching.
When you reach the end of available designs, scrolling stops loading additional content.
